Pattijo B Taylor
NPPS, CPSI
Pattijo B. Taylor is a highly respected playground safety expert with over 30 years of experience in the early childhood field.
She holds a CPSI certification and specialized training from the National Program for Playground Safety (NPPS) in early childhood and school-aged playground safety. Pattijo earned her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and has extensive leadership experience, including serving as Vice President of RWJBH’s Lakeview Child Care Centers in New Jersey where she inspected and designed playgrounds.
A former certified CPR and First Aid instructor, she has also played a key role in achieving NAEYC accreditation for multiple programs. With her deep expertise, Pattijo is dedicated to creating safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate play environments for children.

Rossman Shaffer
NPPS - School-aged Inspector
With over 10 years of experience in public safety, Ross Shaffer brings a unique combination of expertise in law enforcement, early childhood development, and playground safety.
Holding a BA in Criminal Justice from Temple University and an MA in Crime Analysis from Saint Joseph's University, Ross is highly skilled in risk assessment and safety management.
Certified as a Playground Safety Inspector by the National Program for Playground Safety (NPPS) through the University of Northern Iowa, Ross has the specialized knowledge needed to identify potential hazards and make expert recommendations for improving safety.
His background includes roles in early childhood education, including working in preschool programs and serving as a summer camp director.
A highlight of Ross’s career was his work with the Department of General Services in Washington, DC, where he contributed to the design of several creative and inclusive play areas across the country. Ross played a key role in ensuring that these designs were not only safe but also stimulating and accessible for children of all abilities.

Alec Shaffer

Alec Shaffer brings a wealth of experience in public safety and community service to our team.
With 7 years of service as police officer, Alec has developed a deep understanding of risk management, safety protocols, and community engagement.
In addition to his role in law enforcement, Alec is a proud volunteer firefighter, further exemplifying his commitment to public safety and service. He is also an advocate for community policing, working to build positive relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
As Vice President of a local non-profit organization, Alec is actively involved in initiatives that support and uplift the community, always striving to make a meaningful impact.
Alec’s diverse experience, including his hands-on work with emergency response and community outreach, allows him to bring a unique perspective to Playground Inspections USA.
His passion for safety and his dedication to serving others make him an invaluable part of our mission to provide safe, fun, and inclusive playground environments for children everywhere.
